Top five storylines from Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season
October 16, 2024

The sixth week of the 2024 National Football League regular season is now finished. Here are the top five headlines.
5) No upsets.
After several upsets each week over the first five weeks of the 2024 National Football League regular season, there was not one upset in week six, as all 14 favourites won.
4) Steelers get incredible support in Las Vegas.
If you turned the television on and watched the Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, you would have thought it was a home game for Pittsburgh. But no, the game was at Allegiant Stadium on the strip. Many of the yellow towel waving Steelers supporters went home happy as Pittsburgh’s defense limited the Raiders to 57 total yards rushing in a 32-13 romp.
3) Bears beat Jaguars in London.
In the second of three straight weekends with a game in London, the Chicago Bears got a great performance by rookie Caleb Williams of Washington in a 35-16 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Shame on TSN for not making this game available for regular television providers in Canada.
2) Ravens beat Commanders in a battle of division leaders.
After a slow start, the Baltimore Ravens have won four straight games and lead the AFC North at four wins and two losses. On Sunday, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson of Pompano Beach, Florida, had 323 yards passing and 40 yards rushing with one touchdown pass, while running back Derrick Henry of Yulee, Florida, had 132 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and wide receiver Zay Flowers of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, had nine catches for 132 yards as Baltimore beat the Washington Commanders 30-23.
1) Buccaneers and Lions display high potent offense.
The Buccaneers scored 51 points on Sunday in a 51-27 romp over the New Orleans Saints. That was the second most points they have ever scored in a game. Meanwhile, the Lions offense was rolling too, as they clobbered the Dallas Cowboys 47-9. Baker Mayfield of Austin, Texas had 325 yards passing and four touchdown passes for the Buccaneers, while Jared Goff of Novato, California had 315 passing yards and three touchdowns for the Lions.
