Top five storylines from NFL Divisional Playoff

Wow! What a fabulous weekend for NFL action with four games going down to the wire, with three games determined on a field goal on the final play of regulation, and another game decided in overtime!

5) Rams are in the NFC Championship despite fumbling woes.

There is no doubt the Los Angeles Rams did not play well in the second half in their 30-27 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They kept the Buccaneers in the game with several miscues (offensively and defensively), as they were outscored 24-10 in the final 30 minutes. Among the errors were four fumbles. The Rams are in fact the first team with four fumbles and to win a playoff game since the 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers according to CBS Sports.

4) No. 1 seeds knocked out.

On Saturday, both number one seeds were eliminated as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Green Bay Packers 13-10 and the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Tennessee Titans 19-16. This is the first year since 2011 that the number one seed in each conference could not win a playoff game. That year the Packers clobbered the no.1 seed Atlanta Falcons 48-21 and the New York Jets upset the New England Patriots 28-21.

3) No Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers either.

This is also the first year since 2010 that Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers are not in the Conference Championship game. Rodgers meanwhile is now 0-4 in his postseason career against the San Francisco 49ers.

2) Bengals win first road playoff game ever.

The Cincinnati Bengals did something on Saturday they have never done before–that is to win a road playoff game. Until Saturday, they were 0-7.

1) Chiefs and Bills play a classic.

With two minutes left in the Bills/Chiefs game on Sunday, Buffalo was trailing Kansas City 26-21. In this rematch of the 2021 AFC Championship, 25 points were scored in the final two minutes. In a remarkable chain of events, Bills wide receiver Gabriel Davis had four touchdown catches in a losing cause, including two touchdown catches in the final two minutes of regulation. The Chiefs had 13 seconds to march down the field and attempt a field goal after the Bills went up 36-33. Kansas City kicker Harrison Butker did just that from 49 yards before Patrick Mahomes threw an eight-yard TD pass to Travis Kelce, in a 42-36 KC win.
