The National Football League is 18 weeks complete. Here are the top five rookies from week 18 on winning teams. This year we are including kickers.
5) Bucky Irving
The native of Chicago, Illinois made a significant contribution to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reaching the playoffs. Irving had 19 rushes for 89 receiving yards and one touchdown in a 27-19 win over the New Orleans Saints. The major score was for 11 yards and closed out the scoring with one minute and 51 seconds left in the game.
4) Kayshon Boutte
The native of New Iberia, Louisiana helped the New England Patriots not finish last in the regular season. On Sunday in a 23-16 Patriots upset win over the Buffalo Bills, Boutte had seven catches for 117 receiving yards and one touchdown. Boutte’s touchdown catch was for 48 yards, came with nine minutes and 10 seconds left in the second quarter, and put the Patriots up 14-7 at the time.
3) Joe Milton III
The native of Pahokee, Florida played his first NFL game on Sunday for New England, and beat the AFC East Division leaders. He completed 22 of 29 passes for 241 passing yards and one touchdown, along with 10 rushes for 16 rushing yards and another major score. The touchdown run opened the scoring with four minutes and 25 seconds left in the first quarter.
2) Tanner McKee
The native of Irvine, California completed 27 of 41 passes for 269 passing yards and two touchdowns, along with one rushing yard in a 20-13 Philadelphia Eagles win over the New York Giants. McKee was part of the Eagles backup players that beat the Giants.
1) Bo Nix
For the fourth time this season, the Broncos quarterback from Arkadelphia, Arkansas, was number one on our list. After being number one in Week 8, Week 11, and Week 12, Nix was the top rookie in the final week of the regular season. On Sunday, Nix completed 26 of 29 passes for 321 passing yards and four touchdowns in a 38-0 Broncos win over the Kansas City Chiefs. He also had seven rushes for 47 rushing yards and put the Broncos in the playoffs with the win.
