Top five rookies from Week 16 of the 2023 NFL season

Week 16 of the 2023 National Football League regular season is now complete. Here are the top five performances by rookies on winning teams.

5) Lucas Havrisik

The Los Angeles Rams rookie kicker from Riverside, California made all three field goal attempts (20, 22 and 32 yards), along with all three converts as the Rams defeated the New Orleans Saints 30-22. With the win, the Rams improve to a record of eight wins and seven losses and into a playoff spot in the National Football Conference as the sixth seed.

4) Bijan Robinson

The Atlanta Falcons rookie running back from Tucson, Arizona had 12 rushes for 72 rushing yards and seven catches for 50 receiving yards in a 29-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Robinson now has 1246 yards from scrimmage (873 rushing yards and 373 receiving yards), the most among rookie running backs in the NFL.

3) Zay Flowers

The Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Florida had nine catches for 72 receiving yards and one touchdown in a 33-19 Ravens win over the San Francisco 49ers. Flowers’s touchdown catch was from Lamar Jackson and was for nine yards. With the win, the Ravens have the best record in the NFL at 12 wins and three losses.

2) Jahmyr Gibbs

The Detroit Lions clinched first place in the NFC North with a 30-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs of Dalton, Georgia had 15 rushes for 80 rushing yards and two touchdowns, along with four catches for 20 receiving yards. Gibbs’s touchdowns were for 14 yards and three yards. Gibbs’s first touchdown put the Lions up 17-7 and his second touchdown put the Lions up 30-21.

1) Puka Nacua

The Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver from Las Vegas, Nevada was a second Rams rookie to shine on Thursday night. He caught nine passes for 164 yards and one touchdown, and added two rushes for 16 yards. Nacua’s major score was a two-yard catch from Matt Stafford, which opened the scoring.
