Top five rookies from Week 15 of the NFL season

The 15th week of the 2021 NFL season took four days to play because of three games being delayed due to coronavirus. Playing during a pandemic however has become normal for NFL rookies. Here are the five best from winning teams in Week 15.

5) Ben Skowronek–Los Angeles Rams

The rookie wide receiver from the Fighting Irish had four catches for 42 yards on Tuesday as the Los Angeles Rams beat the Seattle Seahawks 20-10. With Robert Woods out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, Skowronek should be able to get more looks as the season progresses. With the win, the Rams are in a first place tie with the Arizona Cardinals at 10 wins and four losses.

4) Ihmir Smith-Marsette–Minnesota Vikings

On Monday, Smith-Marsette became the first University of Iowa wide receiver to get a NFL touchdown since 2007 according to David Eickholt of 247sports. He accomplished the feat in a 17-9 Minnesota Vikings win over the Chicago Bears. Smith-Marsette caught a seven-yard pass from Kirk Cousins with five minutes and 51 seconds left in the fourth quarter to put the Vikings up 17-3. He had two catches for seven yards as Minnesota improved to 7-7.

3) Jauan Jennings–San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers rookie wide receiver out of Tennessee had three catches for 28 yards and a touchdown (his third of the year) in San Francisco’s 31-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons. With the win, the 49ers improved to a record of eight wins and six losses.

2) Amon-Ra St. Brown–Detroit Lions

For the third straight week, Amon-Ra St. Brown has been very productive. After being instrumental in the Lions’ win in Week 13 over the Vikings, where he had 10 catches for 86 yards and one touchdown, St. Brown was equally as impressive on Sunday as Detroit upset the NFC West leading Arizona Cardinals 30-12. He had eight catches for 90 yards and one touchdown, and has put himself into the fantasy football playoff conversation.

1) Davis Mills–Houston Texans

We all know how bad of a year this has been for the Houston Texans. On Sunday, Texans rookie quarterback Davis Mills showed signs of promise, as he completed 19 of 30 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-16 Houston win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mills had great chemistry with Brandin Cooks, who had seven catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns.
