Top five NFL fantasy tight ends in 2020
September 4, 2020

In the second of our six-part series, it is time to look at the top five fantasy tight ends. Known as of the most grinding positions in the NFL, players take on a lot of responsibility, as when they are not used as a premier receiver, they are expected to be used as a key blocker in certain situations. However, in fantasy football, there are no points for blocking. You only get points for the yards gained, and an extra six points if you make your way to the end zone.
5) Zach Ertz—Philadelphia Eagles–Known as one of Philadelphia’s most dependable receivers, Ertz had 88 catches for 916 yards and six touchdowns in 2019. One reason why he is such a valuable tight end is the fact he gets a lot of looks. He was targeted 135 times last season. Only Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs had more targets at 136.
4) Darren Waller–Las Vegas Raiders–It will be interesting to see how Waller adjusts to a new city and a new stadium. A year ao he caught 90 passes for 1145 yards and three touchdowns. His 1145 yards were second only to Kelce, who had 1229 yards.
3) Mark Andrews–Baltimore Ravens–Andrews may have only had 64 catches for 852 yards, but led the NFL last season in touchdowns for tight ends with 10. In 2020, expect Andrews to see a lot more action as former Ravens tight end Hayden Hurst is now with the Atlanta Falcons.

2) George Kittle–San Francisco 49ers–The richest tight end in the NFL, Kittle caught 85 passes for 1053 yards and five touchdowns in 2019. A Super Bowl title will be on Kittle’s mind this year as San Francisco reached the NFL championship a year ago before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.
1) Travis Kelce–Kansas City Chiefs–The chemistry that Kelce has with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is simply outstanding. Last year Kelce had 97 catches for 1229 yards and five touchdowns. Kelce’s 1229 yards placed him fourth in the NFL among all players, behind wide receivers Michael Thomas, Julio Jones, and Chris Godwin.
