Top five NFL fantasy quarterbacks in 2020

With the National Football League season starting on Thursday, it is time to continue our series looking at the top five among the six fantasy positions. In this segment, we will take a look at quarterbacks.

5) DeShaun Watson–Houston Texans–In 2019, Watson completed 333 passes for 495 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He also had five game-winning drives, which led the NFL. However, Watson was also known for his mobility. He had 82 rushes for 413 yards and seven touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown pass. Now the question in 2020 is who will Watson be able to find chemistry with. DeAndre Hopkins, the Texans top receiver in 2019, was traded to the Arizona Cardinals in the offseason.

4) Patrick Mahomes–Kansas City Chiefs–The reigning Super Bowl MVP saw his 2019 regular season statistics drop compared to his remarkable 2018 season. Still, Mahomes was able to complete 319 passes in 484 attempts for 4031 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2019. One positive for the Detroit Tigers draft pick was the fact he saw his interception totals drop in 2019 from 12 to five. The two-time Pro Bowler also had 43 rushes for 218 yards and two touchdowns.

3) Russell Wilson–Seattle Seahawks–Selected to the Pro Bowl for the sixth time in 2019, Wilson completed 341 passes in 516 attempts for 4110 yards and 31 touchdowns. Like Mahomes, Wilson was able to keep his interception totals down as he had a career low of five. Wilson also had five game winning drives in 2019 to lead the NFL, and had 75 rushes for 342 yards and three touchdowns.

2) Dak Prescott–Dallas Cowboys–Expected to have an even bigger year than his 2019 season, Dak Prescott was simply flawless a year ago as he completed 388 passes for 4902 yards and 30 touchdowns. He also had 52 rushes for 277 yards and three touchdowns. In the offseason, the Cowboys selected wide receiver CeeDee Lamb from the University of Oklahoma with their first round draft pick. Lamb will give the Cowboys another option for Prescott alongside Michael Gallup and Amari Cooper.

1) Lamar Jackson–Baltimore Ravens–Recognized as the best all-around quarterback in the NFL, Jackson completed 265 passes for 401 attempts and 3127 yards in 2019. However there are two statistics which made Jackson and his fantasy owners smile a year ago. Jackson had 36 touchdown passes to lead the NFL, and his 1206 rushing yards were the sixth most in the entire NFL. That’s right. There were only five running backs in 2019 who had more rushing yards than the Ravens QB.
