Top five headlines from Week 18 of 2024 NFL season

The 18th week of the 2024 National Football League regular season is now finished. Here are the top five headlines.
5) Tennessee Titans fire general manager Ran Carthon.
The native of Osceola, Arkansas had been the Titans general manager the last two seasons. He posted a record of nine wins and 25 losses. The Titans had a record of three wins and 14 losses this season and enter the 2025 NFL Draft with the number one pick.
4) Three teams fire their head coach.
The New England Patriots said goodbye to Jerod Mayo after only one season. The Jacksonville Jaguars fired Doug Pederson and the Oakland Raiders fired Antonio Pierce. This past season, the Jaguars, Patriots and Raiders all had identical records of four wins and 13 losses.
3) Significant injury to Christian Watson.
The Green Bay Packers are postseason bound, but they enter the NFL playoffs without star wide receiver Christian Watson of Phoenix, Arizona. Watson tore his anterior cruciate ligament on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. During the regular season, Watson had 29 catches for 620 receiving yards and two touchdown catches.
2) Aaron Rodgers completes his 500th career TD pass.
Future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers of Chico, California made NFL history on Sunday when he threw his 500th touchdown pass. He accomplished the milestone with a five yard major score to Tyler Conklin of Chesterfield, Michigan. Rodgers finished the game with four touchdowns as the New York Jets upset the Miami Dolphins 32-20. The only other four quarterbacks with 500 touchdown passes are Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.
1) Broncos and Buccaneers are postseason bound.
The Denver Broncos made the playoffs and got the seventh seed in the AFC by spanking the Kansas City Chiefs 38-0. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the NFC South by beating the New Orleans Saints 27-19.
