The 13th week of the 2023 National Football League season is complete. Here are the top five headlines.

5) Gardner Minshew II looking comfortable in Indy.

When Anthony Richardson went down with a shoulder injury in week five, there were serious concerns about the Indianapolis Colts. However, Gardner Minshew II of Flowood, Mississippi has filled in admirably, and over the last month has guided the Colts to four straight wins. On Sunday, Minshew II completed 26 of 42 passes for 312 passing yards and two touchdowns as Indianapolis beat Tennessee 31-28 in overtime. With the win, the Colts improved to a record of seven wins and five losses, and in a second place tie with the Houston Texans in the AFC South.

4) Lions have their best start since 1962.

Detroit is in first place in the NFC North at nine wins and three losses. It is their best start since 1962 when they were 11 wins and three losses. On Sunday, the Lions superstar was rookie tight end Sam LaPorta of Highland, Illinois. He was simply a beast on the field as he made nine catches for 140 yards and a touchdown in a 33-28 Detroit win over New Orleans.

3) Cardinals win in Pittsburgh for first time since 1969.

The Arizona Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-10 on Sunday. It was the Cardinals’s first win in Pittsburgh since October 5, 1969 when the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Steelers 27-14. The Cardinals star on Sunday was running back James Conner of Erie, Pennsylvania, who had 25 rushes for 105 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

2) Mike Evans reaches 1000 receiving yards for a 10th year in a row.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans once again displayed phenomenal endurance as he reached 1000 yards for the 10th straight year. He accomplished the feat in a 21-18 Buccaneers win over the Carolina Panthers. On Sunday, Evans had seven catches for 162 yards and one touchdown. In 2023, Evans has 61 catches for 1012 yards and 10 touchdowns.

1) Deebo Samuel has three touchdowns in a statement win for San Francisco.

In what was considered the biggest game of the weekend, the top two teams battled it out in Philadelphia. After a slow first quarter, the 8-3 San Francisco 49ers went into high gear, and clobbered the 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles. The star for the 49ers was wide receiver Deebo Samuel of Inman, South Carolina, who had four catches for 116 receiving yards, and three rushes for 22 yards and another touchdown as San Francisco clobbered Philadelphia 42-19.
