The Tennessee Titans have signed safety Jamal Adams to a one-year contract according to KFGO. The length of the contract is reportedly for one year, but we do not know the financial terms of the contract to date.
Adams is joining his third National Football League franchise. He was with the New York Jets from 2017 to 2019, and the last four seasons from 2020 to 2023 with the Seattle Seahawks.
When Adams left the Big Apple for the Pacific Northwest, he was acquired by Seattle in a trade. Seattle also received a fourth round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, while the Jets received safety Bradley McDougald of Dublin, Ohio, a first and third round draft pick in the 2021 National Football League Draft, as well as a first round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Jets first round pick in 2022 turned out to be wide receiver Garrett Wilson of Chicago, Illinois, who was eventually the 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
This past season in Seattle, Adams played in nine games for the Seahawks. He had 48 combined tackles (34 solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles), seven tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits and two pass deflections. The two pass deflections came in Seahawks wins. On October 22, the Seahawks won 20-10 over the Arizona Cardinals, and on October 29, the Seahawks defeated the Cleveland Browns 24-20.
For three consecutive seasons from 2018 to 2020, Adams was selected to the Pro Bowl. He was honoured while with the Jets in 2018 and 2019, and then with the Seahawks in 2020. Adams had a career-high 118 tackles with the Jets in 2018.
