Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson contributing to coronavirus relief effort

Two of golf’s biggest superstars are doing their part to raise awareness for coronavirus. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have agreed to participate in a charity golf tournament at the Medalist Golf Club in Hobe South, Florida on May 24. However this golf event has a twist. Woods will be teaming up with former National Football League star quarterback Peyton Manning, and Mickelson will be teaming up with Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers according to David Purdum of ESPN.

The event is being called “The Match: Champions for Charity.” There will be nine holes of best ball and nine holes of alternate shot. Woods, Manning, Mickelson, and Brady will be donating a combined total of $10 million to coronavirus relief efforts.

The sport of golf has an advantage over other sports because you can have a lot of social distancing. The PGA season is set to resume from the coronavirus hiatus on June 11 with the Charles Schwab Challenge at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

In addition to this unique golf competition, Woods and Mickelson have teamed up with the All in Challenge to raise funds for coronavirus. People who go to the All in Challenge website have a chance to win and bid on a private putting lesson with Woods or play 18 holes of golf with Mickelson. In addition to a golf lesson from Woods, the lucky winners will also get a VIP Experience at the 2020 Hero World Challenge, which is currently scheduled to take place in Albany, Bahamas from December 3-6. Meanwhile, the 18 holes of golf with Mickelson will take place at La Quinta, California on January 19.
