Three NFL players sign identical contracts

Spring is in full swing, and this past week National Football League free agency continued. Here are three more offseason signings. Ironically, all three players signed for the same amount. That was a one-year deal worth $1,292,500. Let’s take a look.

Teair Tart

A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tart is joining his third NFL franchise after signing with the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. A nose tackle and defensive tackle, Tart has previously played for the Tennessee Titans from 2020 to 2023, and the Houston Texans in 2023. Last season Tart had 24 combined tackles (17 solo tackles and seven assisted tackles), eight tackles for a loss, four quarterback hits and one sack in splitting his time with the Texans and Titans. The Texans claimed Tart off waivers on December 18, after he was placed on waivers by the Titans on December 15.

Deonte Harty

A native of Dallas, Texas, Harty is joining his third NFL franchise after signing with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday. He previously played four seasons with the New Orleans Saints from 2019 to 2022, and the Buffalo Bills in 2023. A punt returner, Harty had 26 punt returns for 323 yards and one touchdown in 2023. The punt return was for 96 yards and came in a 21-14 Bills win over the Miami Dolphins on January 7. In Harty’s rookie season of 2019, he was selected to the Pro Bowl with the New Orleans Saints after leading the NFL with 336 punt return yards.

Miles Boykin

A native of Tinley Park, Illinois, Boykin is joining his third NFL franchise after signing with the New York Giants on Tuesday. He previously played three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens from 2019 to 2021, and the last two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 and 2023 as a wide receiver. In 2023, Boykin only had three catches for 17 yards. On December 12, 2019, Boykin had one touchdown catch for five yards from Lamar Jackson in a 42-21 Ravens win over the New York Jets. This was a notable game in NFL history as in this game Jackson set the NFL single season record for most rushing yards by a quarterback. Jackson would eventually have 1206 rushing yards in 2019.
