In a dramatic weekend of golf which saw Cameron Young win the Players Championship with a final round score of -13, (and $4.5 million in the process), the PGA Tour remains in the state of Florida with the 2026 Valspar Championship. The specific location is the Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, 35 kilometres north of St. Petersburg, Florida. Here are the three golfers we like this week the most.
Xander Schauffele
The native of San Diego is a two-time major champion as he won the 2024 British Open and 2024 PGA Championship. The reason why Schauffele is considered the favourite here is because Scottie Scheffler is not competing this week. That said, Scheffler only had a score of -5 this past weekend which was a tie for 22nd. So a break for the world number one is what Scheffler might need. Schauffele is coming off his best result of the year with a third at the Players Championship.
Ryo Hisatsune
The world number 61 has made the last seven cuts and finished second at the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego in January. Hisatsune, a native of Okayama, Japan, also had a fourth place finish at the Valspar Championship a year ago when he shot a four round score of -8.
Jacob Bridgeman
The world number 20 has been one of the most consistent golfers on the PGA Tour this season. He won The Genesis, and has finished in the top 18 in all seven PGA events he has been a participant in during the 2026 PGA Tour season.
