The Plunge’s Saturday Review: Horses You Must Follow From Randwick 5/2

Frosty Rocks dominant all the way victory gave followers an 10 unit victory on a great day of racing at Randwick on Saturday. Paulele was impressive leading all the way in the G3 Eskimo Prince Stakes but the time was over a second slower than Maotai’s effort over the same distance a race later. My horse to follow from the meeting is an exciting Snowden 2yo that raced with no luck.

The Plunge’s Service Results since December 2020:
  • +43.8 units of profit
  • 122 bets: 33 wins/41 placings

Paris Dior – Randwick

  • Race 6
  • Distance: 1100m
  • Class: Listed 2yo

Paris Dior managed to run on nicely to finish 2nd behind Xtravagant Star despite having a horror run. From barrier gate Tommy Berry could not of done a thing more to get in on the Pierro filly and found himself 4 wide and back in the field for most of the trip. She showed a lot of ticker to rattle home the way she did.

When To Bet

The Snowden camp always do a great job with 2yos so expect her to improve. I’m certainly not pencilling her into Slipper calculations yet as I think there are a few more that will have her measure but she should win a nice 2yo race as there will be multiple opportunities over the coming weeks. The fillies seem to be stronger so far but she will get chances to race in filly restricted races as the Slipper gets closer. The G2 Sweet Embrace Stakes for fillies at Randwick over 1200m in 3 weeks looks perfect or they could head to the Silver Slipper in a fortnight.
