The Plunge’s Black Book: Horses Running At Rosehill 3/7

A Waller 3yo that looks to get the day off to a great start for punters and a wet track specialist with a great 2nd up record are the pick of the black book runners at Rosehill this Saturday.

Rosehill Race 1 – Tycoonist

I tipped Tycoonist last start and I am happy to dive back in here after a gallant 2nd where he went down by 0.3L lengths to Papal Warrior, who is heavy in the market in a much stronger race later in the day. The 3rd horse was over 3L behind Tycoonist. The disappointing thing for punters that day was that James McDonald weighed in half a kilogram over the horses handicapped weight which no doubt cost him the race.

He steps down in grade to a BM 72 for 2 & 3yo today and looks at great bet to get the day off on the right foot.

Rosehill Race 6 – Cisco Bay

This 6yo is as genuine as is gets and he has a few things in his favour here. His wet track stats read 16: 6-3-2 and after an impressive win at Randwick 1st up, he is sure to improve with 2nd up stats of 5: 2-0-1.

My slight concern is the lack of genuine pace on paper. Canasta looks to get a real easy time in front but his poor wet track form may lead to connections scratching him. A quality horse like Oscar Zulu may be suited to being on top of a slow tempo which could leave a lot of work for Cisco Bay to do up the straight but I am hopeful there is something that will race out of its usual pattern to apply enough speed up front.

Tip: 2 Units Win Cisco Bay @ $4.6 with TopSport
