The Plunge’s Black Book: Horses Running At Rosehill 19-6
June 18, 2021
A Waller gelding that was frightfully unlucky last start is the lone black book runner at Rosehill this Saturday. Click below why I believe it will be hard to hold out.

Rosehill Race 6 – Tycoonist
Tycoonist had been solid over his first two runs this prep finishing 5th 1st up at Rosehill and then 2nd at Randwick but it was the 3yo gelding’s 3rd up run when he stepped up to a more suitable distance of 1400m that really caught the eye.
From barrier 11, Kathy O’Hara was forced to settle last and when she tried to pinch a couple of lengths going up the inside on the home turn it was a disaster, running onto heels twice.
From here you wouldn’t expect much but the Waller gelding rallied hard to close off strongly over the last 100m to finish with an extremely eye-catching 3rd.
In my original review of the race I predicted that Sydney’s top jocks would be gunning for the ride and we have ended up with Sydney’s #1 ranked hoop with James McDonald. From barrier 2 he should be able to settle just worse than midfield and hopefully produce a similar finish without the bad luck.
