The Plunge’s Black Book: Horses Running At Randwick 10/7

A sprinter with conditions to suit and a speedy grey that looks set to fly are my two black book runners for Saturday’s Rosehill meeting.

Randwick Race 6 – Lancaster Bomber

Lancaster Bomber looks to have everything in his favour on Saturday. His wet track record reads 14:3-6-3, he grows a leg 2nd up 5:3-0-0 and is proven over 1100m 5:1-2-1.

He gained a spot in my black book after he charged home from 3rd last to finish a length behind Malkovich and Hulk. To be fair Hulk came from just behind Lancaster Bomber on the turn and cut the corner to finish a length ahead of him. Hulk is the subsequent favourite of this race but I like the fact the claim from experienced apprentice Tom Sherry allows for a 2.5kg weight swing.

The swing in weight along with the fact that Lancaster Bomber’s 2nd up stats suggest he will improve whilst Hulk is coming towards the end of his prep bodes well for the Richard Litt Gelding.

Randwick Race 9 – Frosty Rocks

Frosty Rocks appears to be flying off the back of two dominant trial wins in Sydney. It was his first trial on a soft Rosehill track a month ago that caught my eye.

As usual he found the front with ease and had quality horses such as Edison under a lot of pressure without taking any ground off him whilst heavyweight jockey Nash Rawiller had him under a strong hold as he cruised for an effortless win.

He maps to get an easy lead here and should be very hard to run down.
