The Forgive, Forget and Follow Files 4/9
September 7, 2021

After the weekend of racing we assess the horses you need to forgive, forget and to follow.
ForgiveÂ
Argentia – Anthony & Sam Freedman
8th of 11 in the 1200 metre Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes (Moonee Valley)
Simply put a line through her run on Saturday. Some would argue she didn’t run on anyway but it simply went wrong from start to finish running up the backsides of her fellow competitors. She also pulled up lame so has to be a complete forgive.
She’s All Class – Chris Waller
8th of 13 in the 1200 metre Group 2 Furious Stakes (Randwick)
I thought her run was full of merit even though to the eye she looked a little disappointing. She loomed into it like she was the winner but peaked late and looked in need of the run. However she ran through the line nicely and the step up to 1400 metres in the Tea Rose next start should suit. These group of fillies look an even bunch this year and with her ability she can be winning one of these races.
Forget
Aysar – Ben & JD Hayes
4th of 14 in the 1200 metre Listed Chautauqua Stakes (Moonee Valley)
It was a much improved effort from this Lindsey Park galloper but still did not quite feature in the finish. Might be a little too soon to put him in the Forget file but he’ll only start facing better horses in better races the deeper he gets into Spring and will need to step up again third up if he wants to be back in the winners stalls.
FollowÂ
Nonconformist – Grahame Begg
4th of 13 in the 1600 metre Group 2 Feehan Stakes (Moonee Valley)Â
What a brave run from this up and coming galloper. Had a wide passage throughout and still kicked on in the straight to finish a game 4th only .7 of a length off the winner. While his Autumn preparation didn’t quite go to plan he can certainly make his presence felt this Spring in races like the Underwood and even a Geelong Cup.Â
