THE EDGE: NSW Provincial & Country Service – Wyong Cup Day 2/9
September 2, 2021

Very strong Provincial meeting tomorrow at Wyong. The race features two black type races, The Mona Lisa Stakes and the Wyong Gold Cup, both listed grade. The sun is out and the track is on the softer side but no doubt it will be improved. Expecting strong on speed bias with the general shape of the track, length of straight and current rail position.
Race 2
Flying Squad
Third up here and is dropping down from a Wednesday metro maiden. Second up he finished 5th behind the likes of Triffacia and some other smart ones. First up ran 2nd behind Fox Fighter who has franked that form. Steps up the 1200 after running strong sectionals late over the 1000 and 1100.
1u Flying Squad $7.5
Race 3
Previsio
Well into his prep here and has found some form recently. Has been a bit luckless this prep with the barriers he’s drawn and getting caught wide. Soft draw and expect him to be prominent, the bias will be advantageous. Both Jason Collet and Ian Cook are in form and striking above market expectations. He is very well placed here and could make a case at single figure odds.
0.5u Previsio $17
Race 5
Jaytees
Second up here. First up and first start for new stable, commanding 4L win at $1.8. Steps up in class to on the back of that maiden win. Very good second up record 3:0-3-0 starting at $3.6, $3.6 and $4. Has the gate speed to lead or be handy. Gets the assistance of an inform Hugh Bowman and an on speed bias. Winning chance at double figure odds.
0.5u Jaytees $12
Wyong Gold Cup Race 7
Inverloch
Third up here. He went well at Caulfield over 1600 first up and backed it up with a placing last start behind Harpo Marx. That run rated very well. Nice on pace running style to suit the track. On a quick back up. Maps well and should get every opportunity if good enough.
0.75u Inverloch $7.5
Staking Plan
R2 1u Flying Squad $7.5
R3 0.5u Previsio $17
R5 0.5u Jaytees $12
R7 0.75u Inverloch $7.5
All bets are Win only – unless specified. Although we rarely bet each-way we don’t object to it, especially for punters who are after short term gains.
