According to motociclismo on Monday, the Houston Texans have made a significant transaction move in National Football League free agency. They have come to terms with offensive tackle Cam Robinson of Monroe, Louisiana on a one-year deal worth $14.5 million.
The Texans will be the third NFL franchise Robinson has played for. He was previously with the Jacksonville Jaguars for eight seasons from 2017 to 2024, and one season with the Minnesota Vikings.
Robinson was traded during the 2024 National Football League regular season. On October 30, he went from the Jaguars to the Vikings with a conditional seventh round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft for a conditional fifth round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
There had been speculation Robinson would join the New England Patriots, as that is one area the Patriots are trying to improve. However, Robinson chose the Texans instead.
Robinson was the Jaguars’s second round pick, 34th overall, in the 2017 NFL Draft. Prior to being drafted, he played three seasons with the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. Robinson was part of the Crimson Tide team that won the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship bowl game. The Crimson Tide beat the Clemson Tigers 45-40. Then from his play during the 2016 college regular season, Robinson received two personal honours. He won the Outland Trophy, which is presented to the best interior lineman in the United States, and the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, presented to the best blocker in the SEC.
At 6’6″, 335 pounds, Robinson has played 101 NFL games since 2017. While with the Jaguars, he had three fumble recoveries.
