Super Bowl Novelty Market Selections

Super Bowl Novelty Market Selections

It has been a phenomenal season of NFL picks for me. We had an early slump when coronavirus was making this the toughest season of my life for picks. Our form over the second half of the season has been amazing.
Since then end of November we are up over 34 units and really have been making some money. So as we enter the final week of this season I am going to be bringing you two picks posts. This one covering the best of all the novelty action, and then later today my final set of picks for this amazing Super Bowl.

I want to start off by saying that these markets are just for fun and should be taken that way. It can be a great way to liven things up if you are watching in a group of people or you’re just a casual fan.

National Anthem

Betting on the length of the National Anthem is a classic of the Super Bowl novelty bets. We have had a long streak of unders but this could be the one to finally hit the over. This year we get a duet between Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan. A duet screams two people getting their moment and dragging this out. Take the over here and start the Super Bowl right.

You can also back which coach will be shown first during the national anthem and this just goes down to how you feel about things. Will they show defending champion Andy Reid first or will they show Bruce Arians, coaching the first ever team to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium? I’m taking Reid but it could go either way.

Gatorade colour

Another classic market – which colour Gatorade will be poured over the winning head coach first? Since 2001 the most common colour has been orange with five times. But it is clear that I am looking at. 4.0 for them to grab the water (four times since 2001) is great value.

Half time show

This year we get The Weeknd performing the half time show. There are plenty of markets you can back here. First up it is the first song he will perform. All reports seem to suggest that Starboy is locked in but there just is not much value in it. 1.36 isn’t terrible but there.

Where there could be value though is for guests. It is so rare for a half time show to not feature some sort of guest these days and one that would make a lot of sense would be Daft Punk. You can get 5.0 for them to make a guest appearance and while he has shot down the rumours, we could well see the French duo making an appearance in Tampa.

Other markets

These days there is little that you can’t get a bet on. From the coin toss – tails never fails, of course – to who the Super Bowl MVP will thank first – it is nearly always the teammates. This Super Bowl could be one of the most fun we have ever seen with two of the best quarterbacks the NFL is likely to see and two incredibly talented teams. But make sure you are following the action with us here at the Sporting Base where the official game picks will be posted with plenty of time for you to get your bet on.
