For the second time ever, Spain has won the gold medal in men’s football at the Olympic Games. In the gold medal game of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris on Friday, Spain defeated France 5-3 in a very high scoring contest.
Spain had two players with two goals each. Lopez scored in the 18th and 25th minutes, to tie the game at one and put Spain up 2-1. Camello then scored the game-winning goal in the 10th minute of extra time, and then a key insurance goal in the 121st minute. The only other Spanish goal scorer was Alex Baena of Roquetas de Mar in the 28th minute, which put Spain up 3-1 at the time.
