The 2024 National Basketball Association trade deadline took place on Thursday. Here are the top seven players to be traded. Those mentioned are those who averaged a minimum of 10 points per game this season and are listed in order of point production. 

 7) Buddy Hield

The small forward and three-point specialist from Freeport, Bahamas was traded from the Indiana Pacers to the Philadelphia 76ers for Marcus Morris, Furkan Kormaz and three second round draft picks. Hield is joining his fourth NBA team after the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings and Pacers. In 52 games this season, Hield is averaging 12 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game, and a field goal percentage of .443, three-point percentage of .384, and a free throw percentage of .848.


5) Spencer Dinwiddie

The guard from Los Angeles, California was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Toronto Raptors for power forward Thaddeus Young of New Orleans, Louisiana and guard Dennis Schroder. Since the trade, Dinwiddie was placed on waivers. This season, Dinwiddie is averaging 12.6 points per game, six assists per game, and 3.3 rebounds per game, to go along with a field goal percentage of .391, three point percentage of .320 and free throw percentage of .781.


5) Alec Burks

The shooting guard from Grandview, Missouri has been coming off the bench with success for the Detroit Pistons this season. He is now heading back to the New York Knicks. Burks, was traded alongside Bojan Bogdanovic for Quentin Grimes, Malachi Flynn, Evan Fournier, Ryan Arcidiacono and two second round draft picks. Burks, who has also played for the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, and Philadelphia 76ers, is averaging 12.6 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, and 1.6 assists per game, alongside a field goal percentage of .394, free throw percentage of .903, and three-point percentage of .401.


4) P.J. Washington

The power forward from Louisville, Kentucky was traded from the Charlotte Hornets to the Dallas Mavericks with two second round draft picks for Seth Curry, Grant Williams and a first round pick. Washington is joining his second NBA team after five seasons with the Charlotte Hornets. In 2023-24, he is averaging 13.6 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and 2.2 assists per game, along with a field goal percentage of .446, free throw percentage of .713, and three point percentage of .324.


3) Dennis Schroder

The guard from Braunschweig, Germany was in the Dinwiddie trade involving Brooklyn and Toronto. In 51 games this season with the Raptors, Schroder was averaging 13.7 points per game, 6.1 assists per game, and 2.7 rebounds per game, along with a field goal percentage of .442, free throw percentage of .852, and three-point percentage of .350. Prior to playing in Toronto, Schroeder has played for the Atlanta Hawks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets.


2) Gordon Hayward

The forward from Indianapolis, Indiana was traded from the Charlotte Hornets to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Tre Mann, Davis Bertans, Vasilije Micic and draft compensation. He is averaging 14.5 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 4.6 assists per game, and 1.1 steals per game, to go along with a field goal percentage of .468, three point percentage of .361, and free throw percentage of .765. The Thunder will be Hayward’s fourth NBA team. In addition to playing for the Hornets, Hayward has played for the Utah Jazz and Boston Celtics. Hayward was an All-Star with the Jazz in 2016-17.


1) Bojan Bogdanovic

The forward from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, was traded to the Knicks in the aforementioned Burks deal. New York is Bogdanovic’s sixth NBA team following the Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons. In 2023-24, Bogdanovic averaged 20.2 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game, and 2.5 assists per game, to go along with a field goal percentage of .468, three point percentage of .415 and free throw percentage of .779.
