Seahawks acquire Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams from the Jets in blockbuster trade

The Seattle Seahawks improved their defense on Saturday by acquiring Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams from the New York Jets in a blockbuster trade according to John Boyle of seahawks.com.
In return, the Seahawks had to give up safety Bradley McDougald, a first and third round draft pick in the 2021 National Football League Draft, as well as a first round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Seahawks will also be receiving the Jets fourth round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Adams, a native of Lewisville, Texas has been a Pro Bowl safety the last two seasons in the Big Apple after being the first round pick, sixth overall, by the Jets in the 2017 NFL Draft. In 2018, he had 115 combined tackles (86 solo tackles and 29 assisted tackles), 12 pass deflections, with one interception for 38 yards, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, 3.5 sacks, nine tackles for a loss and eight quarterback hits. In 2019, Adams had 75 combined tackles in 14 games (61 solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles), one interception for 61 yards and one touchdown, seven pass deflections, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery for 25 yards and one touchdown, 10 tackles for a loss and 13 quarterback hits.

Adams came up big last season in a 34-27 Jets win over the New York Giants in the battle of New York on November 10, 2019. Adams had a season-high in solo tackles (eight), combined tackles (nine), forced fumbles (two). He also registered a 25-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown, which put the Jets up 20-13 at the time.
McDougald, a native of Dublin, Ohio, will be joining his fourth NFL team. In addition to the Seahawks, he has played for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last season, McDougald had two interceptions, six pass deflections, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble, half a sack, 70 combined tackles (52 solo tackles and 18 assisted tackles), one tackle for a loss and two quarterback hits.
