Denver Nuggets point guard Russell Westbrook of Long Beach, California is the National Basketball Association all-time leader in triple doubles with 201. You can make the argument that Westbrook’s 201st triple double on Monday night against the Utah Jazz was the most impressive triple double of his career.
According to nba.com, Westbrook became only the second player ever to record a triple double, with zero turnovers, and be perfect from the free throw line and shooting field goals. In a 132-121 Nuggets win over the Utah Jazz at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah on Monday, Westbrook had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in 32 minutes and 44 seconds of action. He made all seven of his field goal attempts and his two free throws.
The only other player to accomplish the feat was Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis, and like Westbrook it came during the 2024-25 NBA season. Sabonis’s perfect triple double came on November 6, 2024 as he had 17 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds in a 122-107 Kings win over the Toronto Raptors. Sabonis made all six field goal attempts and all five free throw attempts.
Westbrook is not the only Nuggets player who has made triple doubles lately. Nuggets center Nikola Jokic of Sombor, Serbia accomplished the feat the last two games. He had 36 points, 22 rebounds and 11 assists in the Denver win over Utah, and 23 points, 17 rebounds and 15 assists on New Year’s Day in a 139-120 Nuggets win over the Atlanta Hawks.
In 2024-25, Westbrook is averaging 12.2 points per game, 6.6 assists per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, and 1.7 steals per game. He has a field goal percentage of .454, three point percentage of .315, and a free throw percentage of .642.
The Nuggets have a record of 19 wins and 13 losses. They have the fourth best record in the Western Conference.
