Rosehill Preview: Aft Sailing In The Right Direction
February 17, 2023

JAMES Cummings should continue his amazing start to the Sydney Autumn carnival with his star three-year-old colt Aft Cabin running in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
Aft Cabin resumed from a spell with a dominating win in the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on February 4.
Cummings said Aft Cabin would head to the Randwick Guineas after Saturday,
“He’s a beautiful colt. He’s been very impressive and showing lots of promise so far,” Cummings said.
“There’s going to be no giving it away to his opposition here and I can see him being prominent in the run, stepping up to seven furlongs with some ease.”
“But he’s going to have to knuckle down and keep getting better as he lines up against these other outstanding three-year-olds as he heads towards attempting to claim a start in a G1 contest.”
“It’s an exciting step forward for our team, we’ve been really delighted with his progress since the (G3) Eskimo Prince.”
“He couldn’t have started this campaign any better than he has and so far things have been that straightforward that we can’t help but be confident.”
Aft Cabin is a $1.50 favourite with TopSport to win the Hobartville Stakes and is $1.70 to win the Randwick Guineas on February 4.
