Reggie Jackson agrees to Hornets buyout, set to join 76ers

Reggie Jackson is set to join the Philadelphia 76ers after agreeing to a contract buyout with the Charlotte Hornets, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Nuggets traded Jackson to the Hornets earlier this month in a salary-shedding move that allowed them to add Dario Šarić and Russell Westbrook.

Jackson links up with former Clippers team Paul George in Philadelphia and adds depth to a backcourt already consisting of Tyrese Maxey, Kyle Lowry, Jared McCain and Eric Gordon.

It marks Jackson’s fifth NBA franchise since being drafted out of Boston College in the first round of the 2011 Draft.

He played in all 82 games for Denver a year ago averaging 10.2 ppg on 43.1% shooting from the field.

The 34-year-old offers dynamic shot-making and playmaking skills at the backup guard spot and will have a chance to earn rotation minutes on a new-look Sixers team.
