Randwick Best Selection & Value Play 26/12
December 26, 2024
A very competitive card greets us on a massive sporting day that is Boxing Day. Our analyst has found a promising Snowden filly coming off a big maiden win at Canterbury and a Waterhouse/Bott stayer that looks likely to bounce back as the value play.
Best Selection: R4- Tuileries
Tuileries looks a clear standout in this race. She was a fantastic at the trials running down stakes performer Palmetto before a dominant 3L maiden winner at Canterbury.
She is still inexperienced and green. She can over race but getting a smother from gate 1 a pair back should help her relax. The market seems to have framed her and Drift Net as the only 2 chances. Her rival’s tendency to throw in the towel the final 100m of races adds to her own appeal and I can’t see Drift Net correcting her ways at Randwick with 60.5kg.
Value Selection: R7- Townsend
Townsend looks a great chance to bounce back to winning form today. He was a dominant 3.4L winner in BM88 company at Newcastle on Gong Day. Last start he blew the start and was forced to race upside down his usual pattern at the rear of the field. It was still uplifting to see him work strongly to the line to finish 5L 3rd.
He gets a nice map where I can’t see anything going silly to take him on up front. The firm surface and +6m Rail should make him tough to run down.
