Raiders sign Chandler Jones and acquire Rock Ya-Sin via trade

The Las Vegas Raiders were busy on Wednesday in changing their defense. First, they signed defensive end Chandler Jones of Rochester, New York to a three-year deal worth $52.5 million, and then they acquired cornerback Rock Ya-Sin from the Indianapolis Colts for defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, according to Nick Shook of nfl.com.
Jones is joining his third National Football League franchise. He was with the New England Patriots from 2012 to 2015, and then with the Arizona Cardinals from 2016 to 2021. Last season in Arizona, Jones had 41 combined tackles (31 solo tackles and 10 assisted tackles), 12 tackles for a loss, 26 quarterback hits, six forced fumbles, 10.5 sacks, four pass deflections, and one fumble recovery for one yard.
Jones was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021. In 2017, Jones led the NFL with 17 sacks and 28 tackles for a loss. In 2019, Jones led the NFL with eight forced fumbles. In 2015, he was part of the Patriots team that won the Super Bowl as New England beat Seattle 28-24.

Ya-Sin, a native of Decatur, Georgia, has spent the last three seasons with the Colts. Last season in Indianapolis, Ya-Sin had 31 combined tackles (27 solo tackles and four assisted tackles), eight pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery for 13 yards.
Ngakoue, a native of Washington, D.C., will be joining his fifth NFL franchise. He previously played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders. Last season in Vegas, Ngakoue had 28 combined tackles (17 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles). eight tackles for a loss, 23 quarterback hits, 10 sacks, three pass deflections, and two forced fumbles. In 2017 with the Jaguars, Ngakoue was selected to the Pro Bowl and led the NFL with six forced fumbles.
