The Evening Star Night Series continues at Canterbury on Friday night. Our analyst likes a Freedman/Godolphin filly resuming for her new stable off a big trial win and a Portelli 4yo that brings Magic Millions form from last year as the value play.

Best Selection: R3- Mareth
Mareth brings exposed race form in a field where many of her market rivals are debuting. The Godolphin filly was ok in 3 Victorian Provincial runs before spelling and transferring to Freedman. She looked great in a recent 4.5L Canterbury trial win where she showed speed at both ends. The gate is a massive tick.

Value Selection: R4 – King of Dragons
King of Dragons looks to have returned in great order on the back of a big 3.8L trial win here at Canterbury. He was 0.1L 2nd in the Magic Millions feature maiden last year on a Heavy track and will be no doubt being prepared for a race at that carnival this year. He has raced well on all surfaces and should be suited to rolling forward from the low draw.
