Racing Returns To Caulfield

RACING makes its long awaited return to Caulfield for the first time this year after the course proper has been refurbished.

Industry participants can’t wait to return to the track and jockeys who have ridden in the recent jump-outs have given the track their seal of approval.

There’s a massive nine race program to kick off for its first meeting since November last year.
Recent rain has the track rated a Slow 7.

As is always the case with Invincible Caviar, she will garner a lot of the attention on the day, especially as she is racing on the same day as her famous mother Black Caviar won the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Peter Moody has a big opinion of her but pointed out she doesn’t like wet tracks and she may not run in the Michael Walker Farewell Handicap .

Sydney mare Winning Verse returned to the winner’s circle at her last start when she won over 1200 metres at Rosehill.

At her only appearance at Caulfield in May last year, the Marc Conners trained mare won by three and a half lengths.

TopSport has Winning Verse, who will be ridden by Carleen Hefel as a $4.20 favourite. Invincible Caviar is at $4.80.
