Thoughts:

Expect a genuinely run 1200m where on-pace types control early before the closers get their chance late. Princess Que maps to land on speed again and brings sharp, winning recent form at the trip; she’s the one they’ll have to get past. Home Rule profiles as the main danger dropping back from tougher company, sitting handy with a claim to blunt the weight. If the tempo is strong, Sunshineinmypocket is the powerful closer to launch late, armed with a high strike-rate at 1200–1400 and proven BM84 figures.

Race 2 – 6:45PM Drummond Golf Brian Kruger Handicap (1200 METRES)

Thoughts:

With an inside draw and genuine on-pace/map profile, Barari gets the nod—she’s already a 1200 m winner, brings good fresh speed, and profiles ideally from gate 1. Rohesia is flying (1st then a narrow 2nd), maps handy from barrier 2 and rates strongly at ~1200m, while Prestar brings the best raw talent/figures out of higher grade and a strong rider uplift; from gate 4, he should land right on the speed and prove hard to get past late.

Race 3 – 7:15PM Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Series 1 – Heat 1 (955 METRES)

Thoughts:

This shapes as a pure 1000m speed test with several on-pace types. Grand Larceny draws the rails (barrier 1), is a specialist at the Valley 955–1000m trip, and brings strong recent figures; he rates narrowly on top. Beast Mode maps right up on the pace and has been ultra-consistent at this distance, holding his ratings across states. Unflinching is the likely leader and a 955/1000m weapon; if he controls early splits, he’s the danger late.

Race 4 – 7:45PM Carbone Lawyers Stutt Stakes (1600 METRES)

1. Vinrock
2. West Of Swindon
3. Highvol

Thoughts:

This 1400m 3yo race sets up with genuine speed, giving Vinrock the perfect trail to unleash his class late. West Of Swindon maps ideally from the inside and looms as the main danger, while Highvol is a proven Flemington 1400 m winner who can improve third-up and run into the finish.

Race 5 – 8:15PM Dominant Scarborough Stakes (1200 METRES)

1. Esha (Best Bet)
2. La Dorada
3. Point Barrow

Thoughts:

Speed looks strong (Esha, Stardom, Vein Girl), which should suit the better-class filly stalking off them. I’m with Esha to bounce back, dropping from a G1 1000m tempo burn, from La Dorada (big class drop, 1100–1200 her wheelhouse) and Point Barrow (sharp wins this prep, closing splits stack up). Next best: Memo (late threat if they overcook it); Shinjina (progressive, maps soft).

Race 6 – 8:45PM Ladbrokes Feehan Stakes (1600 METRES)

1. Treasurethe Moment
2. Pride Of Jenni
3. Tom Kitten

Thoughts:

Pace maps to Pride Of Jenni rolling in front with Treasurethe Moment parking right there; with both dropping back to their pet trip, the class + map formula points to Treasurethe Moment on the stalk-and-pounce over Pride Of Jenni, with Tom Kitten the late danger second-up back in grade.

Race 7 – 9:15PM Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes (1200 METRES)

1. Lady Shenandoah
2. Baraqiel
3. Alabama Lass

Thoughts:

Lady Shenandoah was badly held up last start and charged late once clear, making her the runner to beat with better luck. Baraqiel is the proven Valley performer with strong on-pace figures, while Alabama Lass brings speed and consistency and will be hard to run down if the tempo steadies.

Race 8 – 9:45PM Ladbrokes Stocks Stakes (1500 METRES)

1. Oh Too Good
2. Abounding

Genuine tempo with Aberlour and Just Feelin’ Lucky rolling forward. Oh Too Good maps on-speed and is flying (3/3 at the mile; close G2 2nd last start). Abounding is ultra-consistent at this level and third-up back against mares profiles perfectly. Marble Arch brings proven G2 class, strips fitter second-up, and can surge late if they overdo it up front.
