Racing: Eagle Farm Tips 1/10
September 30, 2025
Racing in QLD heads to Eagle Farm, and we have placed our top three selections for every race below.
We have crunched the form, sectionals & replays to supply you with our top 3 selections in every race.
You will also find our best bet, value plays & our suggested multi at the bottom of the post
Race 1 – 12:58PM Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap (1000 METRES)
- Making News
- Cardonette
- Boozie Miss
Thoughts:
Gollan looks to dominate. Making News maps perfectly from gate 5 and improves with blinkers on. Cardonette has the talent off strong trials but faces a tricky draw, while Boozie Miss gets every chance from the rails after a smart hit-out.
Race 2 – 1:32PM Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap (1000 METRES)
- Crypto Miss
- Switch The Stars
- Excelboom
Thoughts:
Crypto Miss has the best exposed form, already placing twice in metro company this prep and maps for a soft run from barrier four. Switch The Stars arrives off strong trial wins and gets key gear changes plus a 3kg claim to land on-speed and give a sight. Excelboom showed ability on debut, and his recent trial indicates improvement, with Maloney sticking for a winnable race.
Race 3 – 2:08PM Maiden Handicap (1200 METRES)
- Subterrain
- Odin’s Mount
- I Say I Say
Thoughts:
Subterrain brings a dominant trial and first-up gear (cross-over nose band, ear muffs pre-race) to suggest he’s ready-made. Odin’s Mount has race fitness, a tidy trial win, soft draw (4) and a weight drop to land handy and finish off. I Say I Say maps as the sharp improver after a strong trial and blinkers first time with Daniel Moor up.
Race 4 – 2:43PM Class 5 Handicap (1600 METRES)
- Ocean Zar
- Don Pedro
- Menazzi (Value Bet)
Thoughts:
Ocean Zar looks ready to win—rock-solid EF/Doomben form, maps to stalk and has powerful late splits—while Don Pedro is peaking third-up after a luckless SC 1400m second and gets a kinder setup, and Menazzi profiles as the on-pace danger from gate 2 with a 3kg claim and proven 1600–1800m figures.
Race 5 – 3:18PM BENCHMARK 68 Handicap (1840 METRES)
- Sunlord
- Marenaro
- Addition
Thoughts:
Sunlord is ready to peak—drops 4kg, maps on-speed and has been knocking on the door at 1700–1820m—while Marenaro arrives flying off back-to-back wins (1625m/1890m) and the claim keeps him competitive on pace, and Addition looks the late danger after a narrow SC 1800m second; stronger rider engaged and her closing splits suit a genuine tempo.
Race 6 – 3:53PM Class 5 Handicap (1200 METRES)
- Fragile Love
- Town Crier
- I Am A Marvel
Thoughts:
Leaning to Fragile Love as the top pick—arrives in peak touch off a strong Lismore win, profiles to stalk and unleash late—while Town Crier maps to control the speed back to city grade and will take catching. I Am A Marvel is the value first-up after two solid trials and excels with the sting out. Next best Shalailed with the 3kg claim to offset the lump and on-speed pattern.
Race 7 – 4:28PM BENCHMARK 65 Handicap (1400 METRES)
- Gelatin
- Mazis
- Carnegie Hill
Thoughts:
Gelatin looks primed after an unlucky Ipswich run and maps ideally. Mazis returns off sharp trials with upside at the trip, and Carnegie Hill brings race fitness and consistency with a handy claim.
Race 8 – 5:03PM Class 1 Plate (1200 METRES)
- Now Is The Hour (Best Bet)
- Livalittle
- Adranos
Thoughts:
Now Is The Hour looks the one after a dominant first-up win and maps to control; Livalittle resumes off smart trials with plenty of upside at 1200m; Adranos is ultra-consistent and gets blinkers first time to find that extra length.
Multi bet:
- R2: Crypto Miss – WIN
- R8: Now Is The Hour – WIN
