Rabbitohs Vs Roosters Finals Preview: Everything You Need To Know About Your Team’s Chances
September 12, 2019
The finals are finally upon us and this year is looking as competitive as ever. Here’s a look at everything you need to know about your team’s chances including stats, team news & betting insights.
SYDNEY ROOSTERS VS SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS –Â FRIDAY 13 SEPTEMBER, 7:50PM, SCG
The Roosters and the Rabbitohs knew they were destined to meet again in the finals as the pair played out a thriller last Thursday night.
Surprisingly, the Bunnies gained the upper hand with a 16-10 win, largely thanks to a strong second half defensive stand. But even so, the Roosters are still the short-priced favourites on Friday night as the bookies appear to be backing Sydney’s 4-2 record on the back of a previous loss.
How To Watch:
Team news:
Roosters:Â Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is free to play after a successful judiciary hearing. Luke Keary (personal reasons), prop Siosiua Taukeiaho (ribs), winger Brett Morris (calf) and back-rower Mitch Aubusson (ankle) are all back on deck for the premiers so Angus Crichton and Nat Butcher go to the bench and Billy Smith and Drew Hutchison drop out. Victor Radley moves into the starting side at lock. Lindsay Collins and Sitili Tupouniua go to the reserves list.
Rabbitohs: James Roberts’ return from suspension is timely with Dane Gagai sidelined by a hamstring injury. Junior Tatola comes into the starting side to replace the suspended Sam Burgess. On the bench, Tom Burgess is back from a knee injury so Tom Amone drops out. Dean Britt also joins the bench. George Burgess has served his nine-game ban for eye gouging and has been named among the reserves.
Betting Insights:
- The underdog has won five of the last six matches between Sydney and South Sydney.
- South Sydney has won four of its last six Friday night matches as an underdog by a margin of 1 to 12 points.
- Six of the last eight matches between Sydney and South Sydney have gone UNDER the total match points line.
- Cody Walker has scored a try in three of South Sydney’s last four matches in Sydney.
- James Tedesco has scored at least one try in six of Sydney’s last seven matches as a favourite.
