The Indiana Pacers have had a tough season, and it is highlighted of the absence of their star player, Tyrese Haliburton. However, on Tuesday, the Pacers showed flashes of brilliance. As an 11 point underdog, Indiana beat New York 137-134.
This was the first of back-to-back nights that we saw an 11 point underdog become victorious in the NBA. In Milwaukee’s Wednesday night win, the Bucks were an 11 point underdog to the Orlando Magic, but thanks to 34 points from Cameron Thomas of Yokosuka, Japan, Milwaukee won 116-108.
In the Pacers win over the Knicks, eight Pacers reached double digits in points. Power forward Pascal Siakam of Douala, Cameroon led the Pacers with 30 points. The other seven Pacers with a double-digit game were Canadian guard Andrew Nembhard of Aurora, Ontario (24 points), point guard Quenton Johnson of Los Angeles, California (19 points), point guard T.J. McConnell of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (13 points), forward Aaron NeSmith of Charleston, South Carolina (11 points), center Micah Potter of Mentor, Ohio (10 points), center Jay Huff of Durham, North Carolina (10 points), and shooting guard Ben Sheppard of Atlanta, Georgia (10 points).
Indiana currently has a marginal two game winning streak. They also beat the Brooklyn Nets 115-110 on Wednesday, and are no longer in the basement in the Eastern Conference. That position belongs to the Washington Wizards, who has a record of 14 wins and 39 losses for a winning percentage of only .264. Indiana’s record is 15 wins and 40 losses for as winning percentage of .273. This was only Indiana’s fifth win during the season on the road. They are 5-22 in 27 away contests.
