Blazers vs Wizards 2:10pm AEST

At first look I really wanted to take Blazers at the line here, but it’s hard to imagine Blazers winning without Dame having a firm imprint on the game and the 3.5 points could get a little dicey at the end as the Blazers struggle putting away teams due to their poor defence. Blazers handled them fairly comfortably when they last met in Washington but get DJJ back here which will be huge as he will almost certainly be guarding Beal. They missed him in the last matchup and he went off for 37 points. It’s no surprise their win-streak co-insides with his return and not only does he make their team 7.5 PP100P better defensively, it means they don’t have to play Melo as much (who has admittedly been better on both ends recently but is just so much better suited so a smaller role off the bench). As Wizards don’t really have an effective centre, they are more than happy to go small but I think that plays into the Blazers hands here as they have a really effective small ball unit with Lillard/Trent/DJJ/Melo/Covington who have a ridiculous 131.0 offensive rating in 42 possessions. Dame has just been in beast mode of late and he may have some extra incentive here. Getting a bit of a discount on his points line and his assist lines, and a really nice price. Hard to imagine one of these don’t salute if Portland are to win. He’s gone 30/8 in his last 3 games so every possibility to land both.
