Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Caulfield 8/7
July 11, 2023
Our form analyst has looked over the replays & sectional times from Caulfield on Saturday and has placed his list of horses you must follow below.
ELDERBERRY
Excellent effort from this two-year-old filly. They had to go back from a wide barrier and she finished off strongly running her last 400m (22.91 seconds) and last 200m (11.71 seconds) and those splits were only bettered by Kin for the meeting.
ARRAN BAY
This fellow has a touch of class and appeals as a Group 3 or country Cups performer over 1600m to 2000m. Huge effort to come from off the speed and from barrier 13 to win swooping home late. He recorded the fastest of three 1400 metres races and carried five and five and half kilos more than the winners of the other divisions. Expect this to be a strong form race.

POLAND
Big effort to all but win the 1400m Benchmark 100 event. Took on the leader Edison from half way during the race. He eventually got past him and then fended off all the horses who were charging at him. Then Ulysses who wasn’t in the race managed to swoop home and grab him. There’s a 1400m race he will dominate shortly.
