Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Canterbury & Rosehill 29th & 30th November
December 2, 2024

The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from the weekend’s racing at Canterbury and Rosehill. Our analyst has black booked a Waller runner that looks to have improved sharply after being gelded, a Waterhouse/Bott 3yo that impressed on debut and a Coolmore 2yo that should be finding the winners stalls soon.
Great White Shark
The Waller grey was a runner of interest returning from a let up where he was gelded to help improve his race manners. He settled off midfield and found himself 3 wide without cover along the back straight. He closed off really nicely the final 200m despite the tough run and was only grabbed late by the favourite that had a dream run. With even luck he wins and I would love the opportunity to back him next start at the midweeks.
Gerringong
The Waterhouse/Bott debutant delivered on the promise he showed at the trials. It didn’t all go his way after he didn’t find the front. He settled behind the leader and was held up for 100m at the top of the straight. The acceleration he showed the final 100m was quite impressive. He looks like a quality horse that may feature in the Magic Millions.
Fermoy
The Waller 2yo debuted in what looks likely to be a strong form reference for 2yo races moving forward. He settled midfield and was a little green at the top of the straight. When he finally knuckled down his last 200m was great and he finished 0.4L 3rd. Stepping up to 1200m looks ideal.
