At what age did you decide you wanted to be a boxer and what made you want to do it?
I started training boxing when I was 14 years old, but I was only doing it as training on the side for rugby league. About a year later I decided that it was much more
suited for me and that it was what I wanted to do.
We believe there was a time when you wanted to be a rugby league star, what changed that?
Ever since I started playing rugby league when I was like 4 years old I’ve always wanted to play first grade, but when I found boxing I started to show a lot more
interest in that.
If you went down that path what position would you play and for which team?
If I was to have ever made it in rugby league I would have loved to play for Cronulla because that where I’m from. I always played hooker, that was my position.
On 18-12-15 you had your debut fight, what’d you think of that? Was it what you expected?
Yeah I was very nervous and excited when I had my professional debut. It was a six round fight and it went the distance, it was exactly how I expected it to be.
Former world champion Jeff Fenech is your coach, how does it feel to be coached by someone so successful?
Jeff is someone who I have always looked up to as a fighter way before I had even met him. He knows everything about the sport of boxing. I truly believe he has more knowledge of the sport than anyone. I couldn’t ask for a better trainer as he
motivates me everyday to keep pushing and to keep getting better and reach my goal of one day becoming a world champion.
In 2017 you fought on the undercard of the Pacquiao V Horn fight, what was that like? Does that drive you to be the main fight?
Fighting on the Horn Vs Pacquiao undercard was an amazing experience. I met some great fighters that weekend and I will never forget it. What Jeff Horn did that day was very inspiring, it was a huge upset and it just shows that anything can
happen in a fight.
What are your dreams when it comes to boxing?
One day I want to win a world title as does every other fighter, it’s a long and hard road but I have the right people around me to do it.
