Melbourne have secured their fifth minor premiership in nine seasons smacking the Dolphins 48-6 at AAMI Park on Saturday.

It took a quarter of the match but Sua Fa’alogo drew first blood for the hosts before Harry Grant, Alec MacDonald, and Jack Howarth followed him to give them a 22-0 half-time lead.

Fa’alogo grabbed a second before Jahrome Hughes, Eliesa Katoa, Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Josh King all found second-half tries in what proved an onslaught.

A seesawing opening forty saw the Knights take a lead into the break courtesy of tries to Fletcher Sharpe, Dylan Lucas, and Dane Gagai.

Christian Tuipulotu crossed 54 minutes in to bring the Dragons close before the floodgates opened with William Kennedy, Briton Nikora, Stonestreet, and Mawene Hiroti finding late tries.

Iro scored one, assisted on another, and ran for 198 metres with nine tackle breaks whilst Ramien scored one, assisted on another, and ran for 184 metres with six tackle breaks.

Tuipulotu scored a try and ran for 183 metres whilst Jack de Belin ran for 100 metres and made 27 tackles.
