NRL Weekly Watch: Everything to keep an eye on in Round 11

Round 11 is here and we’ve got a list of moments you can’t miss you can’t miss this week.

Storm host Broncos in Thursday night thriller

Melbourne and Brisbane will face off at AAMI Park to open the round in a top eight clash with the makings of a belter.

There are no changes to the Storm side that were outclassed by the Bunnies at Magic Round, however, Fijian international Tui Kamikamica has been named among the reserves as he looks to force his way back into the side following suspension.

For Brisbane, it is more of the same with Kevin Walters naming the same 17 that got the job done versus Manly last week.

Melbourne are riding an incredible 12-game winning streak against the Broncos and have won 10 of their 13 clashes at AAMI Park.

Bulldogs, Warriors both looking to return to winners’ circle

The Bulldogs are back at Homebush on Friday night to host a Warriors side desperate to return to their winning ways after losing four of their past five.

In a huge boost for Canterbury, star winger Josh Addo-Carr (ankle) returns replacing Declan Casey whilst Harrison Edwards comes onto the interchange for Sam Hughes.

The Warriors will be without Jackson Ford (head knock) and Edward Kosi (ankle).

Marcelo Montoya shifts onto the wing with Rocco Berry coming into the centres for his first hit-out of the season whilst Josh Curran shifts into the second row.

Ronald Volkman will start at five-eighth with Dylan Walker reverting to the interchange.

Can Roosters find form against defending champs?

With just two wins from their past five, the Sydney Roosters will be eager for a change of fortunes when they face Penrith at BlueBet Stadium on Friday night.

Penrith have named the same 17 that was too strong for the Warriors at Magic Round, however, Liam Martin (hamstring) has been named among the reserves.

Angus Crichton will start for the Roosters with Egan Butcher (head knock) missing and Fletcher Baker coming onto the interchange.

The Panthers have won six in-a-row against the Chooks and have not lost to them in Penrith since 2017.

Wests Tigers eye three on the trot versus red hot Rabbits

Fresh off back-to-back wins for the first time in over a year, the Wests Tigers will be eyeing another big scalp when they face a Rabbitohs side riding a five-game winning streak of their own at Accor Stadium on Saturday.

Things are going swimmingly at South Sydney with Jason Demetriou having named the same 17 that downed Melbourne last weekend.

John Bateman (hamstring) returns for the Wests Tigers with Asu Kepaoa reverting to the interchange and Alex Seyfarth out.

Souths have won five of their past six against the Wests Tigers but did fall to them in a one-point thriller a year ago.

Townsville-bound Dragons looking to celebrate Hunt’s 300th in style

The Cowboys will host the Dragons a week on from an impressive 20-6 win over the Roosters at Magic Round in a bid to hand the Red V their sixth-straight loss.

Todd Payten is sticking with the same 17 that finished atop the Chooks in Brisbane with Jamayne Taunoa-Brown cleared to play after being cited for a high shot.

The Dragons have also named the same 17 as last week with Zac Lomax and Jacob Liddle still among the names omitted.

Ben Hunt has been named at halfback for his 300th NRL game but is expected to spend a portion of the game at nine as he did last week with Jayden Sullivan coming into the halves.

Townsville has proven an unkind road trip for the Dragons over the years with the club having won just four of their 15 games in the city.

Moses-less Eels make trip to nation’s capital

Parramatta will make the trip down to Canberra for a Saturday night showdown against Ricky Stuart’s Raiders who have won four in-a-row and are hoping to find themselves in the top eight sooner rather than later.

Albert Hopoate returns onto the wing in place of Xavier Savage in the only change for the Raiders.

With Mitchell Moses (head knock) missing, Jake Arthur starts at seven in his first outing of the season.

The Eels have won five of their past six against the Raiders but have won just two of their past 11 in Canberra.

Refreshed Knights looking to get back on track against Titans

A Knights side fresh off a bye will on Sunday play host to the Titans squad that has managed two wins on the trot after a stunning 26-point capitulation versus the Dolphins.

Adam Elliott (groin) returns onto the interchange in a huge boost for the hosts after a 10-week layoff.

Kurt Mann (abdominal) will be missing with Phoenix Crossland starting at hooker.

For the Gold Coast, Kruise Leeming has been named on the bench in place of Magic Round debutant Keano Kini.

The Knights have won their past four games against the Titans at McDonald Jones Stadium having scored 30 or more on all four occasions.

Can Manly re-find form in Sunday showdown versus Cronulla?

With just two wins from their past seven, the Sea Eagles will be desperate to return to their winning ways when they host the Sharks on Sunday afternoon.

Manly have named the same side that were outplayed by Brisbane at Magic Round, although, Josh Schuster (quad) has been named among the reserves.

Cronulla have also named the same 17, however, Dale Finucane has been named to start with Cameron McInnes on the interchange after the pair swapped prior to kick-off last week.

The Sharks have won three of their past four against Manly following an 11-year period in which the Sea Eagles lost just twice from 19 matchups between the sides.
