NRL Round 4 Preview: The Hurricane’s Tips & Staking Plan

The hurricane is back this week and his followers have full pockets after he provided over 7.4 units of profit. He has taken a look at round 4 and has supplied us with his tips below.

PENRITH PANTHERS VS NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS – FRIDAY JUNE 5, 6:00PM, CAMPBELLTOWN STADIUM
  • Warriors +6.0

They have now had a win and two losses. The losses were against the two best defensive teams in the comp right now, the Raiders and Knights. Historically the Panthers haven’t been much of a problem for them. Penrith’s main issue aside from leadership is that they don’t have a ball playing Fullback and the Warriors have one of the world’s best custodians in RTS. Their loan players are big for them also, Faamausilli and Murchie etc. You need more than two up for a Kikau. IF Panthers get smart and move young Chrichton (Future Superstar) to Fullback I could have some reservations. As it stands I can only get the Warriors start to as big as +3.5. The +6.0 is far too large!

  • Wayde Egan Anytime Try Scorer $7

This kid has more shots at a try from Dummy Half than almost anyone I’ve seen before. Players find something when they play their old sides, he has a point to prove here. I saw him score 3 or 4 tries in a 20s match. New rule helps him too.

PARRAMATTA EELS VS MANLY SEA EAGLES – SATURDAY JUNE 6, 5:30PM, BANKWEST STADIUM
  • Manly +4.0

I actually have Manly rated a half point better team to Parra. If they met on Grand Final Day (could happen) I’d want to be on the one with DCE, Turbo & Jake and the Mad Scientist coaching. The $9 for them to win the comp v Eels $6 is outrageous. Parra a good team, no question but for context their three wins so far include, Scraping past Bulldogs, Flogging the Titans and taking a long time to put a Broncos team without TPJ and Fifita away.

Manly have played Storm, Roosters & Bulldogs conceding just 5 tries in this time inc just one Try in their last 2 Hours of footy. More than happy to play the Silvertails here. I have Manly +2.0, (Bankwest is the major factor here, trappy venue) & more than happy to take the free try start of +4.0 for a gun side if you don’t mind!.

CANBERRA RAIDERS VS NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS – SUNDAY JUNE 7, 4:05PM, CAMPBELLTOWN STADIUM
  • Knights +8.0

The Market just hasn’t cottoned just yet how good a team this Knights side is. Top 4 Prospect all day the $5 will definitely give you an interest for the year. The Cavalry returns with Ponga & Pearce. The Raiders are very good no question but 8.0 is big. Styles make fights and even when the Knights were garbage they have faired very well v the Milk, even when played in Canberra. I am assuming Pearce plays (he’s a tough bugger. I’d be surprised if he is named and didn’t then play). With him in I have the boys from the Steel City only requiring +6.0. This game at Campbelltown where they played so well last week.

  • Raiders v Knights Total Match Points under 40.5

Two of the competition’s best defensive teams go head to head. Between them, they have conceded just 9 tries in their collective 6 games (1.5pg). Last week both their matches only totalled 28 points.
