NRL Round 13 Preview: Our Selections & Staking Plan

We finished round 12 with a solid 2 units of profit but we’ll be looking to build on that with round 13 looking to have some great value bets.

Tipping Results (Started In Round 8) :

Round 12 started off to a high with the Rabbitohs landing 3 units of profit & that was followed by a successful 2 unit bet on the Sharks but a quiet end to the round meant we finished with 2 units of profit which always positive but we’re confident we can improve that stat this round.

Let’s take a look at round 13 below.

ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS VS SYDNEY ROOSTERS – THURSDAY AUGUST 6, 7:50PM, WIN STADIUM

The Rooster have turned in two less than inspiring performances against the Warriors and Titans in recent weeks, which was less than surprising considering Trent Robinson’s side took the field without Boyd Cordner and the Morris brothers last week.

St George are also playing with a point to prove after suffering two consecutive losses at the hands of the Sharks and Rabbitohs.

There’s still plenty of time for the Saints to get their season back on track, but this does shape up as a must-win game if they wish to stay in touch with the top eight.

Josh Morris returns this week from a calf injury, while the Dragons welcome back Adam Clune and Trent Merrin from a concussion.

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS VS BRISBANE BRONCOS – FRIDAY AUGUST 7, 7:55PM, ANZ STADIUM

Both these sides produced improved performances last week but only one came away victorious, the Rabbitohs remaining in touch with the top eight while Brisbane are still striving to end their horror form slump.

The Rabbitohs did it the hard way last week and looked all but gone when the Dragons took a 16-0 lead early but they showed their class by grinding out a win.

The Broncos have now lost nine of their past 10 matches, letting a lead slip through their fingers late in last week’s clash with Cronulla.

MELBOURNE STORM VS CANTERBURY BULLDOGS – SATURDAY AUGUST 8, 5:30PM, SUNSHINE COAST STADIUM

Cameron Smith’s shoulder injury could throw a spanner in the works here but to be fair they have picked a good round to sit him out with the Bulldogs still struggling for form.

The Dogs have lost four straight to the Storm dating back to 2016, but they’ve been an absolute money play during that time covering the line in five straight games as the away underdog.

NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS VS WESTS TIGERS – SATURDAY AUGUST 8, 5:30PM, MCDONALD JONES STADIUM

The Knights and the Tigers are both facing a must-win scenario on Saturday night with their finals hopes quickly fading.

Newcastle still find themselves clinging to life inside the eight after losing to the Storm last week, while the Tigers upset to the Warriors has sent them packing to 10th on the ladder.

The Tigers only had themselves to blame for last week’s surprise loss to the Warriors and don’t seem to have what it takes to play finals football.

PENRITH PANTHERS VS CANBERRA RAIDERS – SATURDAY AUGUST 8, 7:35PM, PANTHERS STADIUM

The ladder-leading Panthers have the chance to equal their club record of eight straight wins when they host the Raiders on Saturday night.

The Raiders have been a tough side to trust at times this year, but they’ve still dug deep when it matters most to pull out three consecutive victories over the Roosters, Rabbitohs and Cowboys.

Of course, none of that compares to the Panthers, who are coming off a 42-12 mauling over Manly last week at Brookvale.

GOLD COAST TITANS VS NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS – SUNDAY AUGUST 9, 2:00PM, CBUS SUPER STADIUM

The Gold Coast and North Queensland come into their lower-table shootout with plenty of reason to believe after brave displays against last season’s grand finalists.

These two sides showed real improvement in their respective losses to the Roosters and Raiders last week, a form line that suggests we should be in for a thriller on Sunday.
