Adam Reynolds is preparing for life after rugby league, but don’t expect him to be leaving the Brisbane Broncos. As the veteran halfback’s decorated playing career winds down, he’s already confirmed where the next chapter will begin.
Reynolds has revealed he will remain at Red Hill in a coaching role once he retires at the end of the 2026 season, ensuring one of the club’s most influential leaders continues shaping Brisbane’s future.
The Broncos captain confirmed he has accepted a development coaching position with the club, allowing him to mentor the next generation of playmakers while staying involved in the game he has spent more than 15 years mastering.
It’s a move that has long appeared inevitable.

Since arriving from the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2022, Reynolds has transformed Brisbane both on and off the field. Beyond helping deliver the club’s drought-breaking 2025 premiership, the veteran halfback has earned widespread praise for his leadership and the influence he has had on younger players throughout the squad.
His experience could prove invaluable for Brisbane’s emerging halves.
Young playmakers including Tom Duffy and Jonah Pezet have both been viewed as part of the Broncos’ long-term plans, with Reynolds already playing an important mentoring role during training and on game day. Broncos legend Allan Langer recently highlighted Reynolds’ influence on Duffy’s development while backing the youngster as a future No. 7.
Reynolds says remaining at the Broncos was always the priority.
Rather than pursuing opportunities elsewhere, the 36-year-old wanted to continue contributing to the club that will be his final stop as a player. The coaching role also provides continuity for Brisbane as it prepares for a future without one of the greatest halfbacks of the NRL era.
The timing is significant.
Reynolds announced earlier this year that 2026 would be his final season in the NRL, bringing the curtain down on a career that includes two premierships, more than 300 first-grade appearances and a place among the competition’s highest point scorers.
While his days of steering the Broncos around the park are coming to an end, his influence at Red Hill is far from over.
For Brisbane fans, that’s welcome news.
