Nine more linebackers to switch teams in 2024 NFL free agency

NFL free agency is just over one week old. Here are nine more linebackers who have switched teams.
Frankie Luvu
The native of Tafuna, American Samoa signed a three-year deal worth $36 million with the Washington Commanders on March 14. He previously played three seasons each with the New York Jets (2018 to 2020) and the Carolina Panthers (2021 to 2023). In 2023, Luvu had 125 combined tackles (66 solo tackles and 59 assisted tackles), 11 quarterback hits, 10 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, five pass deflections and two forced fumbles.
Azeez Al-Shaair
The native of Tampa, Florida signed a three-year contract worth $34 million with the Houston Texans on March 15. He previously played four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers from 2019 to 2022, and one season with the Tennessee Titans in 2023. This past season, he had 163 combined tackles (84 solo tackles and 79 assisted tackles), nine tackles for a loss, six quarterback hits, four pass deflections, two sacks and one fumble recovery. The fumble recovery came in a 28-23 Titans win over the Atlanta Falcons on October 29.
 Andrew Van Ginkel
The native of Rock Valley, Iowa signed a two-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings worth $20 million after five seasons with the Miami Dolphins on March 13. In 2023, Van Ginkel had 69 combined tackles (42 solo tackles and 27 assisted tackles), eight tackles for a loss, 19 quarterback hits, one interception for a 33 yard touchdown, one fumble recovery for 29 yards, six sacks, and eight pass deflections. The fumble recovery for 29 yards came in the memorable 70-20 Dolphins win over the Denver Broncos on September 24, and the interception return for a touchdown came in a 45-15 Dolphins win over the Washington Commanders on December 3. In 2020, Van Ginkel led the NFL with 78 yards on fumble recoveries.
Jordyn Brooks
The native of Dallas, Texas signed a three-year contract worth $26.25 million with the Miami Dolphins on March 14. Brooks has previously played four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks from 2020 to 2023, and had a NFL high 109 solo tackles in 2021. During the 2023 season, Brooks had 111 combined tackles (62 solo tackles and 49 assisted tackles), eight tackles for a loss, five quarterback hits, one interception for 12 yards and one touchdown, four pass deflections, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery for eight yards, and 4.5 sacks. The fumble recovery came in a 24-3 Seahawks win over the New York Giants on October 2 and the forced fumble came in a 24-20 Seahawks win over the Cleveland Browns on October 29.
Bobby Wagner
The native of Los Angeles, California signed a one-year contract worth $8.5 million on March 15 with the Washington Commanders. Wagner previously played 11 seasons with the Seahawks from 2012 to 2021 and again in 2023. He was also with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. A nine-time Pro Bowler with the Seahawks (2014 to 2021 and 2023), Wagner has led the NFL in combined tackles thrice (167 in 2016, 159 in 2019 and 183 in 2023) and solo tackles once (97 in 2017). This past season, he had 96 solo tackles and 87 assisted tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, six quarterback hits, three pass deflections, 3.5 sacks and one fumble recovery. Wagner won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2014. Seattle beat Denver 43-8 and in the game, Wagner had 10 combined tackles (five solo tackles and five assisted tackles).
Kenneth Murray
The native of Missouri City, Texas signed a two-year contract worth $15.5 million with the Tennessee Titans on March 14. Murray has previously played four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. In 2023, he had 107 combined tackles (79 solo tackles and 28 assisted tackles), seven tackles for a loss, four quarterback hits, three sacks, four pass deflections and one interception. The interception came in a 28-24 Chargers win over the Minnesota Vikings on September 24.
Blake Cashman
The native of Eden Prairie, Minnesota signed a three-year contract worth $22.5 million on March 13 with the Minnesota Vikings. Cashman is joining his third NFL team after three seasons with the New York Jets (2019 to 2021) and two seasons with the Houston Texans (2022 and 2023). In 2023 with the Texans, Cashman had 106 combined tackles (56 solo tackles and 50 assisted tackles), nine tackles for a loss, five quarterback hits, one interception, two sacks, five pass defections and one fumble recovery for two yards. The interception and fumble recovery came in a 37-17 Texans win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 24.
Jerome Baker
The native of Cleveland, Ohio signed a one-year contract worth $7 million on March 16 with the Seattle Seahawks. Baker is joining his second NFL team after six seasons with the Miami Dolphins. In 2023, Baker had 78 combined tackles (51 solo tackles and 27 assisted tackles), two tackles for a loss, four quarterback hits, two interceptions for 24 yards and one touchdown, three pass deflections and 1.5 sacks. The sack and a half came in a 31-16 Dolphins win over the New York Giants on October 8.
Josey Jewell
The native of  Decorah, Iowa signed a three-year deal worth $18.75 million on March 12 with the Carolina Panthers. He played the previous six seasons with the Denver Broncos. In 2024, Jewell had 108 combined tackles (60 solo tackles and 48 assisted tackles), two tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits, three pass deflections, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries for 10 yards and three sacks. The two forced fumbles came in two Broncos wins. The first in a 24-9 Broncos win over the Kansas City Chiefs on October 29 and the second came in a 24-7 Broncos win over the Los Angeles Chargers on December 10.
