Rams sign Pro Bowl linebacker Bobby Wagner

Bobby Wagner of Los Angeles, California will now be playing professional football in his place of birth. On Thursday, Wagner signed a five-year deal worth $50 million with the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.
Wagner has played the last decade with the Seattle Seahawks, winning a Super Bowl in 2014. In 2021, he had 170 combined tackles (93 solo tackles and 77 assisted tackles), three tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits, one interception for three yards, five pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one sack.
Wagner’s interception this season came in a 30-23 Seahawks win over the San Francisco 49ers on December 5. He also has one pick six in his career. The interception return for a touchdown was for 98 yards, and also came against the 49ers in a 43-16 Seattle win on December 2, 2018.
For Wagner’s career, he had 1383 tackles (819 solo tackles and 564 assisted tackles), 68 tackles for a loss, 78 quarterback hits, one safety, 11 interceptions for 187 yards, 60 pass deflections, six forced fumbles, 23.5 sacks, and nine fumble recoveries for 82 yards and three touchdowns.

Wagner has been selected to the Pro Bowl the last eight seasons since 2014. Over the last decade he has led the NFL in numerous single season categories. They include combined tackles (167 in 2016 and 159 in 2019), touchdowns from fumble recoveries (two in 2015), solo tackles (97 in 2017), and safeties (one in 2017).
Wagner is one of two free agent signings by the Rams in the offseason so far. He is joined by Allen Robinson, who signed a three-year deal worth $46.5 million on March 17, after playing last season with the Chicago Bears.
