Raiders acquire Davante Adams in trade with the Packers
March 19, 2022

In a shocking move on Thursday, the Green Bay Packers have traded wide receiver Davante Adams of Redwood City, California to the Las Vegas Raiders. It had seemed that the Packers were committed to Adams because they gave him the franchise tag around the time they were planning to re-sign Aaron Rodgers to a massive three-year deal.
In return the Packers are receiving a first and second round draft pick. Now all of a sudden the Packers have a great quarterback, who is the reigning MVP, but a receiving group that is thinner than IBF World Flyweight Boxing Champion Sunny Edwards of Great Britain. According to Bill Barnwell of ESPN, the Packers current top receiver at the moment is Allen Lazard. YIKES!
What Adams brought to the Packers organization was an incredible amount of consistency, reliability, and dependability. He was Aaron Rodgers’ go-to man in the end zone. One-on-one against any cornerback in the entire National Football League, you could literally not find any wide receiver better than Adams. He is that sensational.

Last season, Adams had 123 catches for 1553 yards and 11 touchdowns. The previous season in 2020, he led the NFL with 18 touchdowns and 98.1 yards per game. In 116 games, Adams has 669 catches for 8121 yards, and 73 touchdowns. He also has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the last five seasons.
In Las Vegas, Adams will team up with Derek Carr. Adams and Carr have a history dating back to their days at Fresno State. The bond is so tight that Adams and Carr are next door neighbours in Las Vegas according to Kate Magdziuk of Draft Kings Nation.
