Andy Reid becomes seventh NFL coach to register 200 wins
October 19, 2019
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid of Los Angeles, California became the seventh National Football League head coach on Thursday to have 200 career regular-season wins. Reid achieved the historic mark as the Chiefs defeated the Denver Broncos 30-6 at the Broncos Stadium at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.
Reid won his 70th career game with the Chiefs. In his career, he has also won 130 games with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Reid is now tied with Marty Schottenheimer of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania for sixth place on the all-time NFL win list in regular-season wins. Like Reid, Schottenheimer coached the Chiefs as he had 101 wins with Kansas City from 1989 to 1998.
The coaches on the top five on the list are Don Shula of Grand River, Ohio (328 wins, mostly with the Miami Dolphins), George Halas of Chicago, Illinois (320 wins with the Chicago Bears), Bill Belichick of Nashville, Tennessee (267 wins, mostly with the New England Patriots), Tom Landry of Mission, Texas (250 wins with the Dallas Cowboys) and Curly Lambeau of Green Bay, Wisconsin (226 wins, mostly with the Green Bay Packers). Reid is second among active NFL head coaches, only behind Belichick.

Even though Reid reached a milestone on Thursday, the Chiefs have a lot more pressing matters. That is because Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes dislocated his kneecap in the first half and will be gone anywhere from three to six weeks.
Matt Moore will now be the new Chiefs number one quarterback. Moore has 30 career starts with the Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers. Moore lacks the mobility that Mahomes brings to the table. Moore only has 91 career rushing yards in 51 games, while Mahomes has 364 career rushing yards in only 24 games.
With the win, the Chiefs are at five wins and two losses and lead the AFC West. The Oakland Raiders are second at three wins and two losses.
