NFL Weekly Preview Week 7 2024: Key Injuries, Difference Makers & Projected Upsets
October 18, 2024

We are headed into the seventh week of the season. Here are the key injuries, fantasy stars and projected upsets.
Key Injuries
Heading into week seven, the New Orleans Saints are all of a sudden banged up at wide receiver as they prepare for their Thursday night tilt against the Denver Broncos. Rashid Shaheed of Phoenix, Arizona could be out for the rest of the season after knee surgery, and Chris Olave of San Diego, California won’t play either because of a concussion. Meanwhile, defensive end Aidan Hutchinson of the Detroit Lions is out at least one month with a broken leg, and New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas is gone for the season after foot surgery.
Difference Makers
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson of Pompano Beach, Florida is the top rated quarterback. He is projected to get 221 yards passing, 56 yard rushing and two touchdown passes on Monday night in Tampa Bay.
The top rated wide receiver is A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles. The native of Starkville, Mississippi is projected to get six catches for 83 receiving yards and one touchdown against the New York Giants. The top rated running back is Jackson’s teammate Derrick Henry of Yulee, Florida, who is projected to get 17 rushes for 93 rushing yards and one touchdown.
Projected Upsets
After there were no upsets in week six, I am projecting five underdogs to win this week. They are the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers. I like the Seahawks, Chiefs and Steelers because they have had more time to prepare. I like the Broncos because of the Saints injury issues, and the Lions because they were excellent last week against the Cowboys.
