NFL Week 17 Preview: Our Expert Tips & Staking Plan

There were plenty of times this season that I didnt think we would make it this far, but here we are, the final week of the regular season. It has been the toughest season of picks of my betting life but we won’t let COVID beat us. There is still plenty of games left this season.

Week 17 is a tough week as you are never 100% sure how long teams will keep starters in for. But there is plenty of edges to be found.

Season so far
  • Profit/Loss: -4.98 units
  • ROI: -3%

Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals

On a normal week I would strongly fancy the Ravens here, but as it is, with the Ravens needing to win to get into the playoffs, it is an easy pick. The Ravens have shown before they are happy to run up the score and they can do so again here. They have crushed the Bengals in their past two matchups.

One of the most dangerous rushing attacks in the league goes up against one of the worst rush defences. Lamar Jackson could have a field day as they get ready for a playoff run. Baltimore are finding some form at the right time. They will be a tough match up for whoever they get.

We have done very well backing against Brandon Allen and we will take this last opportunity to do so again.

  • 3 units Ravens -13.5 2.0 with TopSport
  • 2 units Lamar Jackson touchdown 2.0 with TopSport
  • 1 unit Lamar Jackson first touchdown 7.5 with TopSport
  • 2 units Brandon Allen under 225.5 passing yards 1.88 with Ladbrokes

Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants

The instinct on this one is to back the Cowboys. They have been on a good run with three straight wins and the Giants have three straight losses. But dig into those schedules and the Giants have faced good teams, while Daniel Jones has been injured, and the Cowboys have done the opposite.

Go back a month and the Giants were the form team in this NFC East and they are probably the best team in the division right now. The defence has been very good this season and they can slow down the Cowboys. I think this will be a tight, nervy game from both teams.

  • 2 units Giants +1 2.06 with TopSport
  • 1 unit Cowboys/Giants under 44.5 points 1.99 with TopSport

Arizona Cardinals @ Los Angeles Rams

The big news in this one is that John Wolford comes in at QB for Jared Goff who has a thumb injury. Goff has been pretty poor of late and I think that Wolford can manage this one so the Rams can sneak the win. Sean McVay is a great coach and he can put a game plan together to get it done.

The Rams defence is superb and can cause Kyler Murray all sorts of problems. They can hold them down in points making the job of the offence a lot easier.

  • 1 unit Rams +2.5/+3 2.0 with TopSport
  • 1 unit Cardinals under 21.5 points 1.85 with TopSport

New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers

Alvin Kamara has coronavirus and that means that the entire Saints running back group will be out due to close contact. Ty Montgomery is expected to start for the Saints, but I think we will see lots of Taysom Hill in at RB. I don’t want to touch the line in this one. The Panthers are a decent team and while the Saints have a shot at the first seed, they could pull the starters if things are not going their way – another chance for Taysom Hill if Brees gets benched to save his arm.

  • 2 units Taysom Hill touchdown 2.49 with TopSport

Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans

The Texans one real positive is Deshaun Watson and in his last game of the season he gets to go up against a pass defence that gets torched week in, week out. I think the Titans will ultimately come out on top but I think we see a good showing from the Texans to close out the season. Take them with the points and back Watson to put on a show to close out.

  • 2 units Texans +7 2.0 with TopSport
  • 3 unit Deshaun Watson over 283.5 passing yards 1.88 with Ladbrokes
